Arthur ‘Art’ Rudebock
Leetonia – Arthur A. “Art” Rudebock, 95, of Lodge Rd., passed away at 1:30pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Vista Center in Lisbon.
Mr. Rudebock was born October 17, 1918 in Columbiana, Ohio, a son of the late Arthur L. and Lena (Arter) Rudebock, and had lived all of his life in the area.
A 1938 graduate of Leetonia High School, Art and his late wife, Eunice owned and operated AREUTOBE Dairy Farm until he retired.
He was a member of St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ, where he served as treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and had been a Sunday School Teacher. Art had also attended the First Friends Church of Salem.
Mr. Rudebock was a former 4-H advisor; Soil Conservation; Columbiana County Historical Association; the Salem/Center Twp. Farm Bureau Council; and was very active in getting the building built at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds that contains the “Items of Yesteryear” Museum. Art was also a collector of old milk bottles and yard sticks.
His wife, Eunice (Jones) Rudebock, whom he married May 3, 1940, preceded him in death August 5, 2005. Mr. Rudebock was also preceded in death by his sister, Ella Lutz, brother, John L. Rudebock; and an infant granddaughter, Cindy Lou Rudebock.
He is survived and will be fondly remembered by his daughter, Betty J. (Kenneth) Boyd of Leetonia; son, Thomas A. (Beverly) Rudebock of Leetonia; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Burial will follow in St. Jacob’s Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4pm to 7pm Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the St. Jacob’s U.C.C. Church Endowment Fund or the St. Jacob’s Cemetery Endowment Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
