Lisbon – William Henry Davison, 81, of South Green Street, passed away peacefully at 1:26am, Friday, May 16, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Davison was born July 10, 1932 in Salineville, Ohio, a son of the late Henry James and Pearl (Beadnell) Davison, and had lived in the area most of his life.
William worked as a machinist at the Turner Machine Company, then Electric Furnace, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the New Apostolic Church of Akron; was an avid fisherman; and loved to play poker with his grandson, Joe.
Mr. Davison also proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Air force, serving during peacetime.
He is survived by his children, Betty Davison, Gary Davison, Diane (Vincent) Funk, Patty Paulsen, Romey Putnam, Robin Beabout, Cindy (Chip) Wilson, Paulette (Jeff) Cox, Michelle (Scott) Hall, and Kyle Davison; sisters, Helen Mae Beadle, Evelyn Manning, and Doris Brown; 37 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three wives; his sister, Audrey Johnson; and his grandson, Mark A. Davison.
A memorial service will be held at 5pm, Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with his son-in-law, Priest Vincent Funk officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4pm until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
The family also requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the New Apostolic Church Seniors Group, 4259 Karg Industial Parkway, Brimfield, Ohio 44240.
