RIO VISTA, Texas – Robert (Bob) Guy, Age 73 of Rio Vista, TX died at his home on April 25,2014.
He was born on June 5, 1940 in East Palestine, Ohio, the son of the late Raymond P. Guy and Carrie (Kerschgesner) Guy.
He was a 1958 graduate of East Palestine High School. He attended Ohio University and graduated from California State-Fullerton.
After graduation he was employed by various aerospace Industries. He was employed by (Howard) Hughes Aircraft Company where he worked on the radar systems. Bob was part of a team that designed and developed the Apache Helicopter. He worked with another team to develop ammunition and rockets for a shoulder rocket launcher. Bob’s last position was helping to develop a probe to be launched into the black hole of outer space.
Bob’s hobbies included camping, hiking, gem stone hunting and star gazing in the Mojave Desert in California.
He is survived by his wife Virginia (Mackall) Guy, whom he married on Oct.3, 1959; 2 daughters, Gail Proctor of Sidney, Australia and Tamara (Dwayne) Russler of Centreville, VA.; one son Robert (Cynthia) Guy of Midlothian, TX.; and one sister Beth Cook of Darlington, PA. Also, surviving are 6 grandchildren: Chad Guy, Shawn and Tim Proctor, Rylee Russler, Emma and Gregory Guy.
He is proceeded in death by a grand-daughter Coral Dawn Proctor, 2 brothers, Paul and Jim Guy and a sister Nadine Morlan.
