BOARDMAN – Nancy Lee Valiquette, 81, passed away at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman, Tuesday evening, March 11.
Nancy was born Jan. 12, 1933, in Youngs-town, a daughter of Chester and Jennie (Nelson) Deopping.
She attended Chaney High School and was of the Lutheran faith.
She married Robert Valiquette, Nov. 1, 1958, and was a homemaker.
Nancy enjoyed making and collecting dolls, crocheting, knitting, and ceramics. She also was a baker who enjoyed collecting Christmas ornaments. Nancy liked drag racing, Elvis Presley, and Andre Rieu.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her daughter, Cynthia Valiquette of New Springfield; three sons, Raymond (Lucy) Valiquette of Boardman, Robert (Maureen) Valiquette of Orlando, Fla., and David Valiquette of Columbiana; five grandchildren, Kristina, Samuel, Anthony, Ryan, and Taylor; nephew “her No. 5” Larrian Deopping; and niece Dorothy “Bunny” Wilson; other nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Naomi and Joanie, both of Austintown.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, who passed away Aug. 25, 2012; and brothers Jack and Don.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 South Elm St. in Columbiana, with Pastor Ralph Edwards officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 South Elm St., and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to Southern Care Hospice, 5401 Ashley Circle, Ste. E, Austintown, OH 44515.
