Salineville – Mark Thomas Wood, 61, of Market Street, died Saturday evening at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
Mark was born October 16, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN, a son of Eva Myers Wood and the late Charles E. Wood.
Mark came to the Salineville area in 2002. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mark was a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for the U.S. Dept. of Justice. He was Methodist by faith, a member of the John Adams American Legion Post 442 in Salineville, a member of the PRIDEMC motorcycle group, a member of the American Legion County Council, and a former Salineville City Council Member. He loved to ride motorcycles, and enjoyed fast trucks and dune buggies. He loved being with and playing with his dog Abby who was his best friend.
Mark will be missed by his mother Eva Myers Wood; his wife Sarai Avis Wood, whom he married in 2009; three daughters, Christina (William) Johnson of Lebanon, IN, Angie Hatchett of Carmel, IN, Kristina Avis of Salineville; one son, Aaron Pickering of Cleveland, OH; one sister, Susan Wood of Avon, IN; six grandchildren, William Johnson of Lebanon, IN, Tyauna Hatchett of Carmel, IN, Justin Wood of Carmel, IN, Darrel Kramer, Annalise Kramer, and Kayla Avis all of Salineville, OH.
Family and friends may call at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8PM where full military honors will be accorded by the Salineville John Adams Post 442 American Legion Honor Guard at 3:30 PM.
Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
