Lisbon – Charles R. “Chuck” Zellers, 80, passed away at 2:30pm, Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Zellers was born April 8, 1933 in Columbiana, a son of the late Charles Franklin and Viola (Berry) Zellers.
A 1952 graduate of Lisbon Dav-id Anderson High School, Charles had played football for the Blue Devils all four years of High School.
Chuck served with the 98th Chemical Company of the United States Army at Upper Heyford Air Base in England from 1953 to 1955.
Mr. Zellers was employed by NRM Corporation in Columbiana for 29 years, retiring as a Methods Engineer.
He is survived by his wife, the former Martha Dotson, who he married June 20, 1953; daughter, Leslie (Mark) McConaughy of Florida; son, Jeffrey (Linda) Zellers of Salem; sister, Paula (Andy) McDaniel of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, William, Dale, Paul and Kenneth Zellers.
Friends may call from 6pm to 8pm, Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home.
A private family service will be held Saturday morning at the East Carmel Cemetery Chapel near Rogers. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
The family requests that if you so choose, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Lisbon David Anderson Athletic Association or to Alchemy Acres in Salem.
