East Palestine, Ohio – Janice I. Foster, 76 of Brookdale Avenue, passed away at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Covington Community Campus, where she had been a patient for the past several months.
Janice was born November 15, 1937 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Robert R. and Mildred M. Mohr Knight, and was a life resident of the community.
She had at first been employed as a secretary with Merrill-Lynch and later as a branch manager with Paine-Webber, and its successor, UBS, in Canfield, prior to her retirement several years ago.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, and enjoyed her family, dining out, and vacationing, especially her trips to Florida.
Janice is survived by her husband, Herbert H. Foster, whom she married March 9, 1957; two grandsons, Joshua Scott and Corey Matthew Foster; and a daughter-in-law, Diane Foster. She also leaves a brother, Robert L. Knight, Henderson, NV; and two sisters, Judith A. Rivers, Richmond, VA and Mary K. Orr, Sevierville, TN.
A son, Daniel A. Foster, preceded her in death on September 30, 2009.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18th, at the Centenary United Methodist Church, with her pastor, Rev. Mark McTrustry, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home.
