Salem – James L. Stratton, 71 of East 8th Street, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, January 24, 2014 at his home.
He was born March 15, 1942 in East Palestine, a son of the late Frank and Gertrude L. Pierce Stratton.
He joined his Threshold Family July 15, 1979. Jimmy had lived with two close friends, Bill and John, and had been employed at the Columbiana County Workshop for years. For the past year he had been working at Open Door Opportunities Workshop where he loved shredding paper and spending time with friends.
Jim loved children and country music, as well as the Cleveland Browns.
Jim had been preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Stratton, who had resided in the Opportunity Homes in Lisbon.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with friends to be received a 1/2 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
