Jacqueline K. (Jackie) Hays, 71, of Minerva, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 in Aultman Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 14, 1942 to Lloyd and Esther (Rose) Smith. She was a 1960 graduate of Wellsville High School, and attended Robert Morris University, receiving an associate’s degree in secretarial science. She was a licensed optician for Drs. Julius and Perry Lieberman and Dr. Ted Rath in Minerva. Jackie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and also attended Grace Chapel Minerva. She was a member of the D.A.R. and the Ohio Optometric Association.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbur (Lloyd) Hays whom she married Nov. 30, 1962; a daughter, Barbara Hays (Jeanne Orr) of Norfolk, VA; 2 sons, Douglas (Shelley) Hays of Louisville, Todd (Lynelle) Hays of Huron, OH; a sister, Carolyn Tolson of Highlandtown; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Hays of Kenton, Jason Shotwell of Woodbridge, VA; and 5 nieces and 4 nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
