Dolores Stockwell, age 88, of Salem, died at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. She was born March 16, 1925 in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late John I. and Mercedes (Snyder) Shepard.
Dolores was an L.P.N. at the Salem Community Hospital and Salem Central Clinic for 47 years, retiring in 1990. She was a 1943 graduate of Greenford High School and Baptist by faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Carlisle of Salem; a son, David (Debra) Stockwell of Sylvania, Ohio; a sister, Violet Sanders of Venice, FL; two brothers, Jack Shepard and Don Shepard both of Salem; 2 grandchildren, John Carlisle and Jennifer (William) Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Nicole and Megan Walker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Stockwell in 1994; three sisters, Carolyn Dusenberry, Phyllis Snyder and infant Shirley Shepard; three brothers, Dallas, Dean and infant Donald Shepard.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the services. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery in Salem.
