EAST LIVERPOOL Martha Jean Liber, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday morning, December 13, 2013, at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was 88.
Born in East Liverpool, January 30, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Martha Watson Penny. A lifetime area resident, she was a member of the Grace Baptist Temple. At one time, she was active in the Jolly 60s, the Older Americans and the Campground Seniors.
She worked at the former Carl Manufacturing Company in Lisbon.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. Liber, whom she married June 21, 1969. Also preceding her in death were 2 sisters, Mary Southall and Doris Cramer, and a brother, George Penny.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Karen Chadwell, and her husband James, of Herrod, Ohio, and Mary Lou Doty, and her husband Earl, of Lisbon, and a son, Lane L. Liber of Louisville, Kentucky. There are 3 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include a sister, Patricia Penny, and a best friend, Patty Miller.
Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service Monday.
Burial will be at East Carmel Cemetery.
