Frances A. Buchmann, age 94, of Salem, died 5 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at the Essex of Salem III surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 14, 1919 in Herminie, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Okorn) Coz.
Frances was a homemaker and has resided in this area since 1946. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and the United Quilt Guild.
Her husband, Daniel C. Buchmann, whom she married February 23, 1946, preceded her in death January 11, 2013. She was also preceded in death by three grandsons, Nicholas J. Buchmann, James P. Buchmann and Patrick C. Miller; a brother, John Coz; and a sister, Agnes Brookover.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie (John) Miller of Hartville, OH and Francine (John) Stetz of Canton, OH; two sons, Daniel Philip (Karen) Buchmann of Salem, James F. (Connie) Buchmann of Leetonia; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ursuline Sister Mary Ann Coz of Canfield, OH, Helen Luppino of Medina, OH and Antoinette Evers of Garrettsville, OH; two brothers, Frank Coz Jr. of Lancaster, OH and Larry Coz of Garrettsville, OH.
A funeral mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating. Calling hours will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home prior to the services. Interment will be at the Grandview Cemetery at a later date.
