William Green

William W. Green, 89, of St. Clairsville, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.

He was born Sept. 9, 1924 in Salineville, Ohio to the late Harry and Ellen Green.

William was retired from Famous Supply Company and Bill’s Counter Tops. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville; a member of Salineville Lodge # 348 F. & A.M.; a member of Belmont Lodge # 16 F. & A.M.; a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville and a member of the American Legion Post #159 in St. Clairsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Roy and Fred Green.

Surviving are his wife Ruth Green; two daughters, Janet Olexa of St. Clairsville, Susan Myers and her husband Ken of Fremont; a son, Robert Green of St. Clairsville; seven grandchildren, Kristopher and Kyle Myers, Erin and Daniel Naughton, Bethany Olexa, Clayton and Connor Green; seven great grandchildren, Cecelia, Armand, Kate, William, Allison, Drew and Nora; two sisters, Ruth Ann Bettis of Minerva and Marlene Corbisello of Wellsville; three brothers, Roger Green of Calcutta, Tom Green of Minerva and Carl Green of Bloomingdale; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

Visitation will also be held on Monday at Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville from 10 a.m. until time of Services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Laurie Armstrong officiating. Private family burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Salineville, Ohio.

Masonic Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church.
