Richmond, VA – Lt. Col. William Warren Dutcher, 80, passed away November 6, 2013.
He was born September 2, 1933 in Rogers, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Frank Dutcher, a son Wesley and a brother Frank (Dutch) Dutcher, Jr.
He is survived by his loving family, Carol Edwards Dutcher, wife of 33 years; two daughters, Linda Foster and husband Al and Nancy Kitchens and husband Bill; a granddaughter, Erin Kitchens; his first wife of 23 years, Betty Lalley Dutcher; a sister-in-law, Lori Dutcher and many nieces and nephews.
As a teenager, he played the mandolin with a local group, The Peace Valley Ramblers. He loved true country music and especially loved to listen to the steel guitar. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, he retired from the Air Force in 1978 after 23 years as a pilot which included serving in the Vietnam War. He worked for Merrill Lynch, Wheat First, First Union and Wachovia Securities before retiring in 2006. In his retirement he enjoyed his family and friends, listening to music and dabbling in the stock market.
Interment will be at East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers, Ohio.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 40 South Market Street, East Palestine, Ohio 44413 from 1:00 to 3:00 on Saturday November 9, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a hospice organization or a favorite charity.
