New Waterford – Thelma B. Lower, 91, formerly of Pinewood Drive, New Waterford, passed away at 10:06 a.m. Monday, November 11th on Union Ave., NE, near Homeworth.
Thelma was born July 15, 1922 in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Jones Wise, and had been employed as an upholster with the former Kenmar Division of Ethan Allen, and later Franklin Furniture prior to retirement in 1984. She had also been employed part time with the Rogers Auction.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine.
Her husband, Rollin W. Lower, whom she married June 28, 1947, preceded her in death on June 7, 1994. Two sisters, Mildred Hartzell and Betty Frederick, and a brother, Robert Wise, had also preceded her in death.
Thelma is survived by her son, Fred W. Lower of New Waterford; two sisters, Ruby Ford, Belleair, FL and Bonnie Congo, New Waterford, and two brothers, Raymond Wise, Tiffin, and Howard Wise, Wellsville. She also leaves three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with James Ostick, of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
