EAST LIVERPOOL – Michael William “Mike” Morrison, also known to his friends as “Cheyenne Bodey”, formerly of Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, passed away following a lengthy illness at the age of 72, at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Salem Community Hospital.
He was born on February 4, 1941 in East Liverpool, a son of the late William Stanford and Helen Dorothea Perkins Morrison.
A longtime member of Boyce Methodist Church, he was a 1959 graduate of East Liverpool High School and had remained in this area his entire life.
He retired in 1982 from the former Crucible Steel, where he had worked for 22 years. He was a social member of the American Legion #374 and also belonged to the East Liverpool Moose. In his spare time, he played the guitar, loved playing the game of golf and was an avid family photographer and was a very accomplished sketch artist. Mike was a longtime Colts fan back to the days of Johnny Unitas and he loved his pets, especially Lucille the cat and King his childhood dog.
Survivors include his five sisters and one brother: Grace Ann Golling and her husband, Peter, of Fort Myers, FL; Rita Evans and her husband, Richard, of East Liverpool; Carolyn Hager and her husband, David, of East Liverpool; Leah Webb and her husband, Joe, of East Liverpool; Marion Ibbs and her husband, David, also of East Liverpool; and Walter Edward Morrison and his wife, Sue, of Newton Falls, OH. Many nieces and nephews and their families survive as well.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 8 p.m.
Rev. Alvin Talkington of Boyce Methodist Church will officiate at services to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
