GREENVILLE, SC – Wilmer Ray Vollnogle, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 25, 2013.
Born January 4, 1925 in Columbiana, Ohio to the late Roy and Grace Firestone Vollnogle, “Wim” and his family remained there until 1965 at which time they moved to Greenville, SC. He served our country in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was the owner of Reliance Pattern Shop and retired from the wood pattern making trade in 2006.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Cope Vollnogle, an infant son, Bruce Wynn and a brother, Albert Wayne Vollnogle.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Keith and Jeannine Coulombe Vollnogle, Susan V. and Keith Snyder, Amy V. and Mark Cochran, all from the Greenville, SC area and Terry and Sandra Rieth Vollnogle from Dover, NH; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; two nephews, David and Jon Vollnogle of New Waterford, Ohio and two nieces, Necia Cope Robbins and Dana Cope Mortensen of Montana.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 4:00 6:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive. Burial services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10:00am in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC. A memorial service will immediately follow in the Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
