Steven James Shook, 43, Drexel Hill, PA passed away Friday October 25, 2013 at the Bryn Mawr Hospital in Philadelphia PA following a lengthy illness.
Steven was born on November 7, 1969 a son of James and Dorothy (Nalley) Shook.
Steven lived all of his childhood and young adult life in Lisbon. Steven moved to the Washington DC area in the mid 90’s. He was a graduate of Southern Local High School Class of 1988 and Youngstown State University. He attended Bethel United Presbyterian Church. He was a Market Data Infastructure Engineer for the Susquehana International Group (Financial Services).
Steven enjoyed traveling all over the world but especially enjoyed the more tropical regions. He also enjoyed volunteering in numerous organizations, but he preferred not to be recognized for his work. Steven also had a passion for performance automobiles and for technology which extended to his professional work.
In addition to his parents, Steven is survived by a brother, Jeffrey Shook of Randleman, North Carolina; a sister Lisa Willis of Highlandtown; Uncle Roger and Aunt Gail Shook and Aunt Melissa Byers-Emmerling and Uncle Fred Emmerling; a Nephew: Harper Farish; two Nieces Ciara Farish and Lizzie Willis; as well as a wonderful network of friends and coworkers, with whom he was extremely close.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes Wednesday at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Highlandtown Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Tuesday October 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8.
