Salem – Ronald H. Peterson, Sr. 73, of East Pershing Street, formerly of Lisbon, passed away peacefully at 7:25a.m. Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Circle of Care in Salem.
Mr. Peterson was born June 9, 1940 in Lisbon, a son of the late Robert A. and Mable J. (McDevitt) Peterson, and had lived in the area all of his life.
A 1958 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, Ronald worked as a truck driver, and had worked for several trucking companies over the years until he retired in 1995.
A former member of the Lisbon First Christian Church, Mr. Peterson was also a member of the Lisbon Ruritan Club.
An avid Cleveland Browns Fan, he also enjoyed fishing, bowling and listening to country music.
Mr. Peterson also proudly served our country following the Korean War, as a member of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived and will be dearly remembered by his daughters, Kasondra Peterson of Salem, Molly Peterson of Lisbon, Lori (Chris) Coleman of Ohio, and Dreama of California; sons, Ronald H. Peterson II. of Lisbon, Kenne Peterson of Canton, Scott Peterson of Florida, and John Peterson of Salem; brothers, Karle Peterson of Lisbon and Jon (Nikki) Peterson of Annapolis, Maryland; 11 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his former wife and best friend, Teresa A. Peterson in 2004 and by his brother, Robert Peterson in 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 7pm, Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Bibler of the Lisbon First Christian Church officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5pm until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
