Hammondsville – James Roger Tice, 82, of Township Road 299 died Monday evening at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of Ohio Valley in Steubenville, Ohio.
He was born September 7, 1931, in Irondale, Ohio, a son of the late Earl and Bernice Wiles Tice.
James lived all his life in this area, graduated from Irondale High School, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a millwright and electrician from Crucible Steel Company. He was a member of the Irondale Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed farming.
James will be missed by two daughters; Barbara (Ed) Leanza of Trenton, Florida, Robin (Dale) Wise of Lake Park, Georgia; one son, Robert (Susan) Lawrence, Jr. of Toronto, Ohio; one brother, Larry (Betty) Tice of Irondale; one sister Ethel Nelson of Irondale; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by one sister Betty Reapp.
A service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville, Ohio with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Hammondsville, Ohio where full military honors will be accorded by the Salineville American Legion John Adams Post 442 Honor Guard.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
