East Palestine – Carol T. Chick, of Pine Tree Circle, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Hospice House, Poland, where she had been a patient for the past several days.
Carol was born in Fayette Co., Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Dominic and Ida Capparelli Caminite, and had resided in East Palestine since the mid-1950’s. She was a graduate of the Mt. Gallitzin Academy of Baden, and had been a licensed beautician, working with her mother in Rochester, PA for several years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, as well as St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Columbiana, and had been a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Carol had done volunteer work in the Emergency Room at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Medical Center, Youngstown.
Carol enjoyed cooking for her family, as well as participating in western square dancing, and along with her husband and son, enjoyed wintering in Apache Junction, AZ.
She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Chick, whom she had married June 4, 1955 Carol also leaves two daughters, Christina M. Dahmen of East Palestine, and Kathleen (Richard) Stash, Boardman; a son, Daniel Chick, at home; and two grandchildren, Natalie A. Dahmen, and her fiancee, Joseph A. Manno, and Michael Andrew Stash.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Chick in 1977, as well as two sisters, Rosemary Thompson and Dolly Furdak, and a brother, Joseph Caminite.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
