POLAND – Rodger W. Klink, of Poland, Ohio, entered into rest on Monday, September 09, 2013 in the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Rodger was born on March 3, 1947 in Niles, Ohio, the son of George and Betty Fox Klink. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1966.
Following graduation, Rodger honorably served in the United States Army, serving overseas in Viet Nam.
He had been employed as an independent cross country truck driver, driving extensively through-out the United States and Canada.
Rodger’s pastimes included motorcycling and four-wheeling, fishing, spending time at the Mahoning Valley Sportsmanship Club and just enjoying life to the fullest.
He had memberships with the VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield and the Allen Lodge #276 F&AM.
Cherished memories of Rodger will be carried on by his family, his daughter Monica (Chris)
Mitchell and his son, Jethro (Jamie) Klink; his grandchildren, Brandon Mitchell, Scott Mitchell,
Evan Mitchell, Katie Mitchell, Adam Moody and Jayce Klink; his mother, Betty Klink and his companion, Linda Russell.
Preceding Rodger were his father, George Klink; his daughter, Amanda Klink; his brother, George “JR” Klink; his first wife, Joyce Soules and his second wife, Marilyn Klink.
The family met with friends on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield, Ohio where a service was held at 6:00 p.m. A fellowship followed the service. Military Honors were held to honor Rodger for his service to our country.
Arrangements for Rodger were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
