Norman Brown

Darlington, PA – Norman E. Brown, 80, of South Beaver Twp., passed away 8:55 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at Veranda Place, where he had resided for the past several years.

Norm was born June 3, 1933, a son of the late Leonard and Verna Heaton Brown, and had resided in the Chippewa Twp., and East Palestine, OH areas for most of his life.

Prior to his retirement in 1991, he had been employed with the Beaver Valley Country Club for twenty-eight years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the Beaver Valley Country Club, the Lombardi Club of New Galilee, and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Posts 4579 of East Palestine, and Post 8106 of New Galilee.

In his free time, Norm enjoyed playing Yahtzee with his family and also enjoyed golf and bocce.

Norm is survived by four daughters, Connie S. (Ron) Frey, Fairport Harbor, OH, Patty A. (Rob Shuler) Frey, Winchester, VA, Vicky L. (Bruce) Humphrey, Darlington, and Wanda M. (Jim) Lutz, Aliquippa; a son, Norman Brown, Jr., Beaver Falls, PA.; twelve grandchildren, Ronald, Michael, Andrew, Matthew, Lauren, Nicole, Stacey, Casey, Jimmy, Robin, Randy, and Koree; and seven great grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Charles (Betty) Heaton, Beaver Falls, and Michael (Dee) Brown, Columbiana, OH; and two sisters, Joyce (Joe) Chaposky, Carlisle, and Helen (Jerry) Barnhouse, East Palestine, OH, and a sister-in-law, Sue Brown, also of East Palestine.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Brown, as well as a sister, Dorothy (Bruce) Foster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 9th at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, East Palestine, OH, with Rev. Jeffrey Mickler serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A military service will be conducted by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4579 and the American Legion Post 31. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
