East Palestine – Dona Lou Braden, 82, of Irwin Avenue, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Thursday at her residence, following a brief illness.
Dona Lou was born December 9, 1930 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Sylvanus Elias and Minnie Kuntz Lower, and was a life resident of the community. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, and a charter member of the Gamma Omicron Society, of which she was an active member for fifty-three years. Gamma Omicron is a philanthropic organization, whose purpose is to give to back to the community. Dona Lou’s other activities included the East Palestine Garden Club, and the former Meals on Wheels Program, which she volunteered for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert O. Braden, whom she married July 14, 1948; two daughters, Kathy Lynn Jordan and Amy Elizabeth Cope, both of East Palestine, and a son, Robert Jerold Braden, New Waterford. She also leaves four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday. A memorial service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will be in Glenview Cemetery.
