Lexington, North Carolina – Ralph Edward Peterson, 69, of Lumina Drive, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home.
Ralph was born in New Brighton, Pa., on April 15, 1944, to Oscar Homer and Viola Hartman Peterson. He was raised in East Palestine, graduating from East Palestine High School.
He was district manager for Shoney’s and a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome.
Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War, and was a member of American Legion Post 8.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Shirley Craig; and brother Charles Peterson.
Surviving are daughters Robyn Parker of Midway, N.C., and Samantha Baxley (Scott) of Manteo, N.C.; son Ryan Peterson (Debbie) of Arcadia, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Justin, Lauren, Eden, Lily, Evelyn, Natalie, Cameron, Sydney and Zachary; sisters Nancy Galza (Joseph), Anita Spiker and Doreen Peterson, all of Ohio; and brother Richard Peterson of Florida.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 19, at the Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel by the Rev. Mark Blair. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Welcome. Visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 18, at the funeral home.
