Columbiana, Ohio – Mrs. Joyce Eleanor McKinney, 61 of Kelly Park Road, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in North Union Twp., Pa.
Mrs. McKinney was born March 9, 1952 in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of Warren James and Lois (Knepp) Kale and had lived in the area all of her life.
She was the Chief Financial Officer for McKinney’s Furniture, working there since the 1970’s.
Joyce was a member of the Pathway Church of Chippewa, where she sang in the church choir, and was a former member of the First Church of Christ of East Palestine. She was an energetic person, who loved to golf, enjoyed gardening, and she loved to ride her motorcycle. An avid traveler, she had ridden over 50,000 miles on her motorcycle and had seen many places and met many lovely people. Her family was one of the most important aspects of her life and she will be sadly missed.
Besides her parents Warren James and Lois Kale of East Palestine, she is survived by her husband, Robert McKinney, whom she married December 7, 1998; a son, Mike Cozza of New Waterford; brother, James Kale of Warren; sister, Christine Baird-LeBlanc of Montgomery, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved, cats, Sammie and Carlie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Pathway Church, (Chippewa Evangelical Free Church), 239 Braun Rd., Beaver Falls, PA. 15010 with Pastor Edward Walsh officiating. Burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8pm, Friday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, and from 10 am until the time of services Saturday at the church.
