Lisbon – Clyde Lawrence McVay, 76, of Trinity Church Rd., passed away suddenly at 11:35 am, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in the emergency room at Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. McVay was born June 15, 1937 in Lisbon, a son of the late Gale and Treasa (Homan) McVay and had lived all of his life in the Lisbon area.
Prior to his retirement, Clyde worked for Center Township.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Lillian (Bowles) McVay, whom he married August 16, 1957; daughter, Tina (McVay) Ketchum of Salem; sons, Donald F. McVay of Florida, Jody L. McVay and Albert J. McVay, both of Lisbon; sister, Alma McVay of Warren; brothers, Patrick McVay and Gale McVay, Jr., both of Salineville; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his sons, Wesley, John, Clyde Jr., and Timothy McVay, daughter, Rebecca McVay, brothers, Don and Ken McVay, sister, Arlene McVay; and granddaughter, April Lynn McVay.
A graveside memorial service for the family will be held at 11am, Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Lee Cemetery in Lisbon.
