Findlay, Ohio – Betty J. Frederick, 88 formerly of East Palestine and New Waterford, OH, passed away late Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2013, at The Heritage where she had been a patient for the past several months.
Betty was born January 11, 1925 in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Harry R. and Bertha L. Jones Wise, and had resided in the East Palestine, New Waterford and Columbiana areas for most of her life, prior to moving to Findlay earlier this year.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine.
Her husband, James W. Frederick, whom she married December 4, 1948, preceded her in death on February 8, 1987. A sister, Mildred Hartzell, and a brother, Robert Wise, had also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah R. (David) Simms, Girard, and two sons, Raymond L. (Debbie) Frederick, Findlay, and Raymond D. (Tina) Frederick, Springfield; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Betty also leaves three sisters, Thelma Lower, Homeworth, Ruby Ford, Belleair, FL, and Bonnie (Hubert) Congo, New Waterford; and two brothers, Raymond Wise, Tiffin, and Howard L. Wise, Wellsville.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7th at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with James Ostick, of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the time of service. The family has asked that material tributes take the form of contributions to her church.
