Salineville – James Howard Hogue, 88, of St. Rte. 39, passed away Sunday night at his home with his family present.
James was born July 3, 1925 in Salineville, Ohio, a son of the late Howard and Ruth McKarns Hogue.
James lived all his life in this area graduating from Salineville High School. He was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of the Highlandtown Volunteer Fire Department. He worked as a dairy farmer on his own farm, was a bus driver for Southern Local Schools, and a courier for Citizens Banking Company. He was a family man and enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Donna J. McDonald Hogue at home; Robert J. Hogue of Grand Rapids, MI; Barbara A. (Barry) Cronin of Salineville, OH; David (Janice) Hogue of Hubbard, OH; six grandchildren, Amy (Robert) Wittenbach, Bambi VanBeek, Tim (Marissa) Hogue all of Grand Rapids, MI, Travis (Rachel) Cronin of East Liverpool, Kevin Hogue, Matthew Hogue both of Hubbard; five great grandchildren, Morgan and Maddie Wittenbach, Samantha, Sawyer and Sophia VanBeek of Grand Rapids, MI.
Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth E. Hogue and three sisters, Evelyn Rogers, Grace Molyneaux, and Mary Lou Smallwood.
A service will be held Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ted Ludwig of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
