Negley, OH – James A. “Jim” Dickey, 70, of South Front Street, passed away at 12:55am, Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital following a recent illness.
Mr. Dickey was born September 29, 1942 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late Louis and Edna (Henderson) Dickey, and had lived his entire life in the area.
Jim worked in the maintenance department at Kaiser Refractory and National Refractory for more than 30 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the East Palestine Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 467 and the F.O.E. Aerie 2415, New Waterford. Jim also loved to shoot pool and ride his motorcycle. He was also a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Risinger) Dickey, whom he married September 12, 1964; sons; Scott (Stephanie) Dickey of Rogers and David Dickey of East Palestine; grandchildren, Aaron Dickey, Meghan Dickey, Emily Dickey, Mason Dickey, and Garrett Dickey; great grandchildren, Gage, Zander, Maddox, and Connor; and his dog, Molly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Ready officiating. Burial will follow at East Carmel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Friday at the funeral home.
