BRADENTON, Fla. – Charles L. Stacey, 78, a longtime resident of Bradenton, Fla., passed away on July 10.
Chuck grew up in East Liverpool, and was the third eldest in a farming family of 14 siblings. He joined the US Air Force and served honorably during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and retired after 20 years of distinguished service to his country. After a short break and some odd jobs, he was employed as the maintenance manager for Lake Brantley High School in Orlando, where soon he became a well-known and loved fixture. After 20 years of dedicated service to the high school, he and wife Barbara moved to Mt. Vernon in Bradenton to enjoy life and retirement. Soon, most everyone in Mt. Vernon saw him walking the paths where he enjoyed greeting and talking with passersby.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his son, Kevin; his daughter, Roberta; and two grandchildren, Bud and Erin.
Family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, 912 53rd Av. W., Bradenton. Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery on Tuesday.
