East Palestine – John C. Heffner, 28, of Jimtown Road, passed away at 7:31 a.m., Wednesday, June 5th, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boardman Campus, after becoming ill at home.
John was born October 12, 1984 in Salem, a son of Teresa Turner Heffner Cunningham and the late Charles R. Heffner.
A life resident of East Palestine, he had attended the New Castle School of Trade, and prior to becoming disabled, had been employed with the Sparkle Market here as a manager as well as a meat cutter.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Teresa and James Cunningham, with whom he resided; a brother, Marcus (Dawn) Turner of East Palestine; and a sister, Sierra Turner, at home. John also leaves his grandparents, Robert and Colleen Turner of Florida, and Neva Heffner, Wellsville.
His father, as well as a grandfather and a grandmother, had preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with Mark Blakely, officiating. Friends will be received for two hours on Monday prior to the time of service.
