John Dangelo

Salineville – John Anthony Dangelo, 90, passed away at his home early Saturday morning, June 8, 2013.

Born June 22, 1922 in Summitville, he was a son of the late Patsy and Angeline (Carlone) Dangelo.

A life-long area resident, he worked as a mill operator at Summitville Tile for more than 40 years.

John proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was a member of American Legion John Adams Post 442. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a former member of Lisbon Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and farming.

Survivors include his wife Audrey Ellen (Dailey) Dangelo whom he married May 15, 1948; 3 children: John A. (Becky) Dangelo of Mt. Vernon, Barbara Anne (Larry) Hogue of Highlandtown, and Dennis J. (Roseanne) Dangelo of Salineville; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Ralph Dangelo of Salineville, Pete (Ellie) Dangelo of Summitville, and Jim (Darlene) Dangelo of Salineville as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Diana Marie Dangelo; brothers Mike, Joe, and Paul Dangelo as well as sisters Ann and Helen Dangelo and Dorothy DeMatteo.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. James Lang at 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church. Burial with military honors provided by the Salineville American Legion Post 442 will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park. Calling hours are 5 to 8 PM Monday at the Weber Funeral Home.
