Lisbon – Edward B. Chamberlain, 88, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully at 1:38 pm, Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital following a recent illness.
Mr. Chamberlain was born November 13, 1924 in Lisbon, a son of the late William F. and Mary (Thorton) Chamberlain, and had lived his entire life in the Lisbon area.
He worked as an electrician for 30 years at NRM, retiring in 1987. He also loved to farm and he enjoyed working on his house.
Mr. Chamberlain was also member of the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church and had held various positions within the church over the years.
He also served our county as a member of the U.S. Army, serving at the end of WWII.
His wife, Annabelle (Smith) Chamberlain, whom he married September 2, 1950, preceded him in death January 12, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie L. Chamberlain; grandson, Todd Slagle; sister, Eunice Winters; and brothers, William, Harry, George, Lewis, and Charles Chamberlain.
He is survived by his sons, Steve (Marilyn) Chamberlain of Salem and Jon (Pam) Chamberlain of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Josephine (Joe) Pugia of Chetsworth, CA; grandchildren, Chad (Amanda), Seth (Sara), Zac, Ben, Kym; great grandchildren, Jacob, Jon, Roger, Cassie, and Ciara; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, 33937 State Route 30, Lisbon with Rev. Richard Jones of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, Monday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10am until the time of service at the church.
