Lima, OH – Ardella Jean Frank, 87, of Lima, died at 4:47 Monday, June 3, 2013, at Baton Rouge Senior Health Services.
She was born July 4, 1925, in Columbiana, Ohio, to Howard and Evelyn (Bowers) Coy who preceded her in death. On August 11, 1951, she married Lynn E. Frank, who died March 2, 1981.
Lynn, heading for adventures in California, stopped for a piece of pie at a diner in Columbiana, Ohio. He met Ardella, the waitress, and he never made it to California. So began a beautiful relationship.
Mrs. Frank, along with her husband, founded Suburban Trailer Sales in 1959. After her husband’s passing, the family business became Spider Performance Automotive, where she was a constant presence, conversing with the hot rod and racing customers. In her younger days, she modeled fur coats for department stores. She was a member of the 1943 graduating class of Columbiana High School. She loved to read and was a very sharp individual. She loved baking, cooking, her grandchildren, and every Saturday evening, cooking dinner for her family. She loved to sew, making clothing, blankets and drapes, darning socks, and knitting.
Survivors include a son: Tracy (Andrea) Frank of Lima; three grandchildren: Jason Michael (fiance’ Catherine Crawford) of St. Marys, Megan Ann Frank and Karly Lynn Frank both of Lima; two sisters: Marilyn Angelmeyer of Lisbon, OH and Helen Sirback of Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Dana Lynn Frank, a brother, Roger Coy, and a sister, Violet Gerlach.
Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Columbiana Cemetery Chapel, Columbiana, Ohio.
