Maryland Beverly

NEGLEY – Maryland “Merel” Beverly, 72, of Shoshone Trail, a loving husband, father, and grandpa “PaPa”, went home to be with the Lord at 12:07 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Hospice House of Poland following a recent illness.

Mr. Beverly was born June 6, 1940 in Salineville; a son of the late John P. and Delphia (Moore) Beverly, and had lived most of his life in the area.

Merel was a carpenter and foreman for 30 years, a union carpenter for 25 years, and a self-employed carpenter for 10 years, retiring in 2000.

Mr. Beverly also proudly served our country in Korea during peacetime following the Korean War.

He was a member of the Lisbon Assembly of God Church; American Legion #490 of Columbiana; the Lake Tomahawk Sportsman’s Club; Carpenters Union 171 of Youngstown; and the Classic Car Club.

He is survived by his wife, Joann (Sadosky-Bell) Beverly, whom he married July 1, 1961; sons, Jim (Paula) Beverly of Negley, Mark (Angel) Beverly of North Lima, and Kenny (Pam) Young of Hammondsville; sisters, Rita (Bob) Heim and Freda (Hurkes) Combs, both of Lisbon; brothers, Clarence (Mary Jane) Beverly of Lisbon, John (Tina) Beverly of Calcutta and David Lee (Sheri) Beverly of Salem; 6 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He leaves a big hole in our hearts and will be tremendously missed, but always loved.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Lisbon Assembly of God Church, 39442 State Route 517, Lisbon, with Pastor Greg Pennington of the church officiating. Burial will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery, with full military honors.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8p.m., Tuesday at the church and also one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
