Lois Simon

East Palestine “Together Again” Lois J. Simon, 79 of Unity, was called home to be with the Lord at 5:25 p.m. on May 27th, 2013 while at home.

She was born March 31, 1934 in Rochester, PA, the daughter of the late Edward N. and Helen J. Drumm Noel. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward, and a sister, June.

Lois was married to Raymond C. Simon on August 21, 1954 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in East Palestine, of which she was still a member.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 4579.

Lois had been employed by Kenmar Manufacturing and Insul Co., until retiring in 1998.

She is survived by her two children, Kathy Simon Powers and John Simon, both of East Palestine; and four grandchildren, Kasey, Chad, Crysti, and John; and six great grandchildren, Bryce, Lexi, Aden, Kealin, Sophia, and Benson. She also leaves a sister, Dorothy Bacon of Texas and many nieces and nephews.

A service will not be observed.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Valley, Father Tom of Our Lady of Lourdes, and her many physicians over the past several years, and the East Palestine Fire Department.

Contributions can be made to the Salem Area Visiting Nurses Association or Hospice of the Valley.
