GREENFORD – Lawrence (Larry) Edward Holisky 65, of Greenford, died at 1:06 PM Friday, May 3, 2013 at Salem Community Hospital.
He was born on November 9, 1947 in Salem to Gloria (Bergman) Holisky and the late George Holisky.
He was retired from GM Lordstown auto assembly plant. He was a former longtime member of the Greenford Ruritans and umpired and long active with the Green-Beaver Baseball. He was a US Navy veteran.
After retirement he stayed active with the GM retirees group, served on the prayer team and remained active at the Greenford Christian Church where he was a member.
In addition to his mother of Columbiana, he is survived by his wife, the former Mary Daugherty whom he married on March 24, 1972, his children, Melanie (James Jr.) Lanterman of Austintown, Larry (Krista) Holisky Jr. of Salem, Nicole (Barry) Frost of Salem, and Joseph (Rori) Holisky of Atlanta, Ga., siblings, George Holisky Jr. of Washingtonville, Elaine (Jerry) Scullion of Phoenix, Az., and Tina Jurjavcic of East Palestine, and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, 8 PM at the Greenford Christian Church with the Rev. Sean Kelly officiating. The burial will be in Greenford Christian Church Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 PM at the church. The family is asking that memorial contributions to be made to the family to help with the expenses of the funeral.
