EAST LIVERPOOL – Fred C. Smith, 88, of East Liverpool died Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his home. Born September 21, 1924 in Hager, WV, a son of the late Leslie M. and Ada Adkins Smith.
A veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was retired Crucible Steel Colt Industries where he had worked in cold strip dept. from 1942 until 1982. Fred was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening and dearly loved his beagles.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death his grandson, Eric Smith, brothers, Carl and Augbert Smith; and his sisters, Elva Davidson, Alma Powell and Phoebe Boswell.
He leaves behind his children and their spouses, Ralph and Penny Smith, Coshocton, OH, Denny and Pam Smith, Highlandtown, OH and Marie and Kenny Vincent, East Liverpool; grandchildren and their spouses, Wendy & Todd Schumaker, Jason & Shelly Smith, Joanne & Don Snyder, Tonya & Michael Hall, Angela & Dave Paterra and Jenna & Matt Smarrella; 19 great grandchildren; brothers Frank Smith, New Brighton, PA, Donald Smith, Dohinda, IL and his dear sister, Helena Morgan, East Liverpool.
Friends will be received Friday from 2pm to 6pm, with a 6:30pm service in the D.L. WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 848 Midland Avenue, Midland, PA 15059.
Interment will take place at a later time
