WELLSVILLE – Darlene Porter, 71 of Campground Road, Wellsville died at her home on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 following a lengthy illness. She was born in East Liverpool, OH on May 12, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Pearl (Kried) McIntosh.
Living her entire life in this area, she was a 1959 graduate of East Liverpool High School, attended Hope Christian Fellowship and was owner of the Dairy Queen in Wellsville for 50 years. Darlene was involved with the EL MS Group, the Glenmoor Girls, The Women of Heart at Hope Christian Fellowship, The Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce and was the recipient of the Legend Award in Wellsville.
Her husband, John Porter, whom she married on November 20, 1999 survives her at home.
Also surviving her are her two children: Robert Rufener and his wife Tere of East Liverpool, OH and Tammy Palma of East Liverpool, OH; one brother: David McIntosh and his wife Jan of Boiling Springs, SC as well as five grandchildren: Codie Ruefner, Alexis Ruefner, Dustin Palma, Brenen Palma and Landon Palma.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Phillip McIntosh of Hope Christian Fellowship officiating.
Burial will take place in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The family will present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8PM
