NEW WATERFORD – Randy C. Rupert, 56, of New Waterford, passed away early Saturday morning at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Randy was born on Dec. 14, 1956 in Youngs-town, a son of Donald Joseph and Harriet (Betty) Rupert, and was a lifelong area resident.
He graduated Springfield Local High School in 1974, and was a professional truck driver for Yellow Roadway Corporation. He was also a foreman for Roadway Trucking Company of Hubbard. He earned the unbelievable distinction of having driven one million miles without an accident.
In his spare time, Randy enjoyed sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending time with his family.
Randy leaves to cherish his precious memory his mother, Betty; two brothers, Brett A. (Kori) Rupert of New Middletown and Brian G. Rupert of Columbiana; three nephews, Joe, Josh, and Kyler; and four nieces, Karli, Rebecca, Kollin (John) Chupa, and Kelsey.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Donald Joseph.
Randy’s family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
