EAST PALESTINE – Hugh Malcom Trainor, 85, of East Palestine, Ohio, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013.
Born in West Leyden, N.Y. on June 13, 1927, to Alexander Winfield Trainor and Elizabeth Janet (“Bessie”) Logan Trainor. He was a veteran of World War II.
He had a lifelong love of aviation and was a private pilot. He retired from U.S. Air, Pittsburgh, as an aircraft mechanic.
In 1956, he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and continued as a member of the East Palestine congregation until his death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mabel Betsinger Trainor, and seven sons and daughters: Michael (Deborah), Indiana; Cynthia (Randall) Crill, Tennessee; Melissa (Joseph) Stevens, New York; C. Lauri (Kevin) Owens, Ohio; Nanette (Keith) Owens, Ohio; Nathan (Jill), Virginia; Benjamin (Tammy) West Virginia: and 11 beloved grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother Kenneth of West Leyden, N.Y. He was predeceased by brothers Keith and Alex; and his “sis,” Mary Duncan. He is also survived by a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 700 Brookdale Avenue, East Palestine, Ohio.
