Hilda Merrill

LISBON – Hilda L. Merrill, 90, of Bonaire, Ga., formerly of Lisbon, was received into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Marlana Trafford.

Born Aug. 9, 1922 in Wellsville, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Louise (Shamp) Clutter.

A homemaker, she had also worked at Homer Laughlin China for 15 years and as a nurses aide at Hutton Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Way Truth Life Full Gospel Tabernacle in Bonaire and a former member of East Liverpool Church of God.

Survivors include daughters Christina L. (James) Chikas, Louise Merrill and Marlana Trafford, all of Bonaire, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two brothers, Clifford (Betty) Clutter of Bedford Heights and Charles Clutter of Warren, Ohio.

Her husband, Floyd N. Merrill, whom she married in 1946, died in 1980. Also deceased are her son Timothy W. Merrill, Sr., daughter Donna M. Papic; sisters Dorothy, Thelma, Margaret, Alice and Goldie; and brothers Arthur, William, Raymond, Theodore, Jr., Clarence, Robert and George Clutter, and a grandson, Fredrick L. Meek, Jr.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. James Chikas, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
