HANOVERTON – Charles F. Ankeny, 86, of Hanoverton, passed away at the Great Trail Care Center in Minerva on Saturday, April 27, 2013.
Charles was born October 24, 1926 in Jewett, Ohio, the son of John Jacob and Eliza Blanche (Raynard) Ankeny.
He retired from National Rubber in Columbiana. He also did farming and general construction and roofing, and had also worked at the Scio Pottery.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Hanoverton.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Helen Ilene (Beadnell), whom he married April 12, 1952.
Other survivors are two sons, Charles (Terrie) Ankeny Jr., of Hanoverton and Bill Ankeny and his companion Rita of Kensington; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie of New Galilee, Pa.; a sister, Delores (Don) Lautzenheiser of Berlin Heights, Ohio; a brother, Ernest (Marjorie) Lautzenheiser of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Ankeny, and two brothers, James and John.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at the Church of Christ in Hanoverton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Church of Christ in Hanoverton.
The Maple-Cotton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
