NORTHAMPTON, Pa. – William Earl Fry Jr. “Bill,” 58, of Northampton, Pa., formerly of Stroudsburg, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre Pa.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio, to William Fry and Barbara (Ritchie) Fry. Bill graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1973, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1973 and served in the Seabees. After the Navy, he was employed as a carpenter and a bartender.
Bill is survived by his son, William Fry III of Florence, Ky.; mother, Jane Fry-Jackson of Leetonia, Ohio, Barbara and Charles Koontz of Ravenna, Ohio; siblings, Kathy Evans of Lake City, S.C., Joyce Kern of East Palestine, Ohio, Howard Fry of Tobyhanna, Pa., Janice Kosman of Bangor, Pa., Susan Peffer of Ravenna, Ohio, and Jeff Ritchie; stepbrothers, Daren Jackson and Bill Jackson, both of Leetonia, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and companion, Miriam Mayerchak.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Fry, and nephew, Timothy Ballester.
A private family service will be held in Petersburg, Ohio.
