ROGERS – Rosanna R. Shingleton, 99, of Walnut Street, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana, where she had resided the past 16 days.
Mrs. Shingleton was born Aug. 12, 1913 in Grafton, W.Va., a daughter of the late James and Anna Shaffer Godwin, and had lived in this area most of her life.
Mrs. Shingleton was a homemaker and member of Lake Mount Church of Christ, New Waterford.
Her husband, Robert Shingleton, whom she married Feb. 16, 1931 died Nov. 24, 1993.
She is survived by four sons, James (Margaret) Shingleton of Rogers, with whom she had made her home the past 16 years, Dale (Becky) Shingleton of Wooster, Edward (Judy) Shingleton of Mesa, Ariz. and Frank (Tammy) Shingleton of Rogers; a daughter, Norma Holtom of Lancaster, Ohio; a brother, Hayward Godwin of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Leroy and Charles Shingleton; eight sisters, Viola Wolverton, Wanedith McCauley, Nora Reneman, Lena Mossburg, Hazel Cunningham, Idella Austin, Flo Haddix-McCord and Bernice Godwin; a brother, Howard Godwin; and a great-grandson, Collin James.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Mount Church of Christ with Mr. John Cresanto officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Lake Mount Church of Christ and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Funeral arrangements are being made by Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
