SALEM – Carole A. Flick, age 70, of Salem, died at 7:07 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Aultman Hospital in Canton. She was born May 14, 1942 in Salem, a daughter of the late William and Ida (Konnerth) Meissner.
Carole was a 1960 graduate of Salem High School and had been employed as assistant secretary at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She had been a teller at Bank One for 12 years and an owner of Mario’s Pizza along with her late husband Norm. She had also worked for Ohio Bell in Cleveland and Florida Bell.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and volunteered at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Salem Saxon Club Branch No. 18 and was a board member of Grandview Cemetery and others.
Her husband, Norman F. Flick, preceded her in death Sept. 25, 1983.
Survivors include her sister, Peggy Meissner (Marty) Howard of Fort Wayne, Ind.; niece, Amy (Denny) O’Brien of Fort Wayne, nephew, Jeff Howard of Nashville, Tenn.; great nephews, Nate and Matt O’Brien; her companion of 24 years, Mike Lutsch and his children, Mike (Jennifer) Lutsch Jr., Mindy Lacey and Eric (Kim ) Lutsch; grandsons, Kaiden and Jonah Lutsch and Ronnie Crumbaker; beloved granddaughters, Lisa (Mike) Conway and Jennifer Tallman; stepchildren, Kathy Jones, Norm and John Flick; and good friends, Debbie, Denny and Aimee DeRoads, Linda Schuster and many others.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. at Stark Memorial Funeral Home and on Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
