East Palestine, OH – Ronald E. Dunham, Jr., 60, of Alice Street, passed away at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30th, at the Salem Community Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.
Ron was born January 20, 1953 in Beaver Falls, PA, a son of Mary Lou Moore Dunham Shafer, and the late Ronald E. Dunham Sr., and had resided in East Palestine for the past thirty-two years, coming from Darlington, PA.
He was a graduate of the former Northwestern High School, and had been employed with Joe Dickey Electric, North Lima as a tool manager, and mechanic, for twenty-six years, retiring in 2011.
He had attended the Centenary United Methodist Church, and enjoyed the outdoors, spending his free time hunting, fishing, and gardening.
In addition to his mother of Negley, he leaves his wife, the former Pam Schellenger, whom he married July 26, 1980; one son, Jonathan W. Dunham, at home; a brother, Danny (Nancy) Dunham, Darlington, PA; and three sisters, Sandy Noel, Negley, and Connie (Carl) Rosenbaum and Misti Martin, both of East Palestine. Ron also leaves two step-brothers, Joe Dunn, Boardman, and Jeff Dunn, Phoenix, AZ; two step-sisters, Robin Hays, Illinois, and Lisa Williams, Columbiana; a brother-in-law, Chuck Cope, and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Ronald E. “Dude” Dunham III, preceded him in death in 2003, as had a sister, Shirley Cope.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Centenary United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark McTrustry, of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
