FLORAL CITY, Fla. – Robert Thomas Figley, Sr., age 81, Floral City, died February 16, 2013 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.
Bob was born on May 28, 1931 in East Palestine, OH to the late Joseph and Florence (Engle) Figley. Bob owned and operated an upholstery shop in Floral City for many years.
With his wife, Tamiko, they opened their home into a bed and breakfast inn, “The Heritage House.”
He was a member of the Floral City Historical Society. A very sociable and outgoing person, Bob was known for his music- he enjoyed playing guitar, singing and entertaining everywhere he went. He also enjoyed the game of golf.
He was a parishioner and usher at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Tamiko Figley; sons Robert Figley, Jr. (Marilyn), Thomas Figley (Diane), Sam Figley and Robert Lewis; daughters Sue Mansfield (Mike) Peggy Clark (Grady) Patricia Pamas (Steve) and Nancy Hunter (Jeff); brother Francis Figley, and a sister Jean Hildenstien, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, step-son Andre Ruffner and step-daughter Eva Masumoto.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ted, a brother, Joseph, a sister Mary Jane (Mahon) Rowe, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. The family will receive friends in visitation from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
The family requests donations in Bob’s memory to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers.
