COLUMBIANA – Richard Wayne Snay, 73, of Columbiana died at 7:10 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. Snay was born July 28, 1939 in Lisbon a son of the late Charles and Nellie Boso Snay, Sr.
Mr. Snay had worked as a mold setter for Blackhawk Automotive, Salem He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana. Richard served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, the former Joan S. McMurray, whom he married October 19, 1962; three sons, Todd R. Snay of Cleveland, Daniel W. Snay and Craig M. Snay both of Columbiana; four sisters, Laura M. Surmaceviz of TX, Vera L. Bortmas of Washingtonville, Carol Paul of Boardman and Marjorie Ballard of Salem; two brothers, Roger Snay of FL and Thomas Snay of Hanoverton; and two grandsons, Dustin (Erin) Snay of Clearwater, FL and Jordan Snay of Columbiana.
Three sisters, Kathryn J. Mills, Dorothy I Snay and Ruth A. Knight; and a brother, Charles E. Snay, Jr. preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana with Reverend Carolyn Griffeth officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana and at the church one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
